Nike story of success.


                  Nike started its company in 1960 with the name Blue Ribbon Sports. The company started its positioning in the consumer's minds as a high-quality shoe designed for athletes. From the starting of the company, Nike made its value as a competitive high-quality shoe. The price was high but its value was more than the price.
               Company based on the “pyramid of influence” that means a top order athlete always influence the other athlete and also the whole group. It always positioned itself as the top performers of every sport increase its value from time to time.
                Steve Prefontaine, a world-class runner and the first spokesperson for Nike, who match its brand image but this only a start for Nike. In 1985 it expanded its verity of shoes and started manufacturing shoes for football showing Mikel Jordan as its brand image or spokesperson. It revenue banged up to $100 million in that year.
               In 1988 it started showing adds “Just Do It” on 12 TV sports channel. After that Nike has millions of money, a great strategy so it started expanding in many countries like it was ready to gulp every bite that it can. It started sponsorship in many events.

The biggest break for Nike

               The Brazilian team which is the only national team sponsored by Nike won the world cup the Nike was attached with the emotion of people. Then it was not only a brand but also a spirit, and emotion that say a lot of things.
               In 2003 Nike bought Umbro the company which is making soccer shoes for a British company and after generating the highest amount of revenue from it sold it in 2012 in $225 billion.

Strategy to beat the competition

               It was the time of national Olympics Beijing, Nike took special permission to sponsor different sports person and team this the time where it beat Companies like Adidas and showed it quality in Asian and market that gives the first impression in the Asian market.
              Then it expanded its product line from shoes to footwear, apparels, and much more equipment. To get into basketball apparels it chose Kobe Bryant and LeBron James while to enter in Tennis it chose Rafale Nadal.
              As it has already become an emotion it started a Campaign with Armstrong “LIVESTRONG” to collect the funds for Cancer.
               
               By this time it has already made its brand image everywhere but still, it was hungry for more growth so it started more eco-friendly product and still by this time it the top brand of all time in sports equipment.
